There is a kind of fear towards which human beings are unable to react, to defend themselves, to flee, or to try to save themselves. It is not the fear that arises from the threatening appearance of an animal, or of a sudden assailant, or from the unsettlement of a natural disaster. It is Panic, known to the Greeks as Phтbos - which refers to no object and against which there is nothing to be done. It is the constant alertness of having been brought into this world, that is able to generate the prolific madness of invention, of myth, of the rules of the game.

“Echo Dance of Furies” falls under the framework of a broader research on abandonment that Dewey Dell is exploring within “Dido & Aeneas” by Henry Purcell, from which the title “Echo Dance of Furies” comes from.
